How Coaching Will Help Your Family – Early Bird Deadline is Today

When I started coaching, my primary goal was to help pastors maximize their potential and grow their churches. However, over the years I have seen a surprising side effect… the positive impact of my Senior Pastor Tele-Coaching Network on the Pastor’s family, particularly their spouse.

Check out the video below, where Jessica Thompson from Colorado Springs shares what the network meant to her:

BTW – The Early Bird Deadline ends today!

Today is your last chance to save $600.00 and receive $645.00 in bonuses! If you have not yet submitted your application, get it in before midnight tonight to lock in these early bird bonuses.

In light of this testimony, take a moment to prayerfully consider whether your spouse would like to see you more productive, more organized, healthier and happier… all the while, seeing your church experience growth and health like never before.

If so, click the link below to apply online for the new network that begins on February 23, 2012.

How Coaching Transformed One Small Town Pastor & Church – PLUS Early Bird Deadline TOMORROW!

The Early Bird Deadline to apply for my new Senior Pastor Tele-Coaching Network is TOMORROW at midnight, so I wanted to post a reminder for you to submit your app today or tomorrow to Save $600.00 and Receive Over $645.00 in Additional Bonuses.

And all the Early Bird Bonuses are in addition to the real benefit of the coaching itself!

As I was getting ready to type up this post, I remembered a powerful email I received just last week from Bob, a two-time Coaching Alumni.

Bob is a 55-year old Senior Pastor from a small town who’s about to return for his third round in the network and he gave me permission to share his email with you today.

If you’re wondering what kind of results you might experience in my coaching network (both personally and in your church), check out what Bob had to say:

Nelson,

I am not sure I can put into words how I feel about my experience in your Coaching Network.

I know that your time is limited so I will try to be brief and to the point.

When I joined the Network I was not in a good place.  I was depleted, spent, and at a  personal growth standstill.  I can’t blame anyone, or any circumstance.  I was 10 years into the church that I had planted and we had seen some very good days but we had leveled off and to be honest, were beginning to decline.

I believe by God’s grace and goodness that Church Leader Insights came across my eyes and heart at just the right time.  If God was ever obviously sovereign in my life, it was sure then.

Before planting my church, I had a four-plus year stretch of pure misery.  I had accepted the pastorate of a ‘plum’ church and after nearly 5 years had all I could take and stepped out of the ministry.  Just a few weeks later my denomination asked me to plant a church.  Looking back, I probably was not ready to assume that mantle of spiritual leadership.  To make a long story short, what our family experienced in those years was deeply painful.  I was embittered, but disguised it with a smile and launched into my new assignment with vigor.

When I submitted my application for my first round of coaching, I had just released the bitterness that I had truly thought I had years prior.  You can’t ignore scars, but you don’t have to pick at them.  In the Lord’s goodness and patience, I forgave offenses, and God’s grace flooded my soul, my marriage and church.  At that time, my elders and folk knew that God was at work in me.  At that time, I committed to the Coaching Network as well, at my own expense.  It was that important to me.

Fast forward to the condition of where Bob’s church is now:

What has happened in this small county seat town of less than 3,000 is amazing!  I just transplanted the Systems Mentality here… in a traditional setting in every sense of the word, and BOOM!  Attendance shot up from 125 to 200Baptisms quadrupled and then some.

We had traditional Sunday Morning Sunday School,  which have now been eclipsed by Semester-based Small Groups in attendance and participation.  Guess what?  My folk are so juiced up that Sunday Night Worship is a memory and Growth Groups have become the staple.  Way cool.  Our Big Days have been explosive!

In a static to declining community (we are the 15th poorest county in the nation), our first Christmas Offering went from 11K to $19,400K in my first December.  Most recent Christmas Offering climbed to $23,600K!  Budget Offerings have increased from $360K to $384K in just 18 months.  The Stewardship System works!

Your Coaching did not just teach me Systems…  It revived my spirit.

I have signed up for Round 3 and am ready to rock.

Thanks for being invested in me.  If I can return the favor, I certainly want to.

Beyond Grateful,

Bob

Wow!  What an amazing testimony of how God is at work in Bob’s life, in his church and in his community.  I’m humbled that – for whatever reason – He has chosen to work in such a powerful way through my Coaching Networks.

I can’t say that I completely understand it, but the results don’t liethe average church in my network experiences a 30% increase in attendance and a 25% increase in offerings within a year of the network.

So, let me ask you: How could God maximize your leadership and grow your church if you and I partnered together for the next 12 months (starting February 23) in this new Tele-Coaching Network?

If you’d like to find out, click the link below to read all the details, watch video testimonies from others like Bob and Apply Online (it takes less than 7 minutes):

But don’t delay – the Early Bird Deadline (along with $600.00 in Savings and Over $645.00 in Bonuses) expires TOMORROW, Jan 31 at Midnight!

What Does King David Have to do With Your Personal Growth Plan?

Jason Hatley

It’s Jason Hatley, Pastor of Worship Arts at The Journey Church with a quick question for you?

When is the last time you read the story of Samuel anointing David as the future King of Israel (see 1 Samuel 16)? It’s one of the great stories of the Old Testament, and as I was reading it this week it took on a whole new meaning for me as a pastor and a worship leader.

Let me explain . . .

In the Old Testament when a person was pronounced king, they underwent the tradition of being anointed with oil. The oil was poured on the soon-to-be king’s head. From there it ran down the hair, through the beard and all over the body.

This symbolized two important things . . . God’s spirit being poured out on the new King (1 Samuel 16:13), and the belief that as goes the King (oil running down the head), so goes the Kingdom (running over the rest of the body).

As goes the King, so goes the Kingdom.

What an incredible illustration of the power of Godly leadership . . . both then and now!

To make this even more personal think of it this way . . .

“As goes the pastor, so goes the church.”

OR

“As goes the worship leader so, so goes the worship team.”

Humbling isn’t it?

You and I carry the responsibility not only of our own health and growth, but also for our churches and our teams.

When we are growing, our churches will as well. But when we’re stagnant . . . well you know how this sentence ends.

This principle is true across all areas of our ministry:

  • Your team will be ready for rehearsal to the extent that you are ready for rehearsal.
  • Your team will pray for and prepare for Sunday to the extent that you do.
  • Your team will model Christ-likeness and generosity to the extent that you do.
  • Your team will . . . you get the picture!

So, as leaders of churches and worship ministries we must have a constant focus on our own personal growth — spiritual, leadership, artistic, etc — because you can bet our teams have a constant eye us!

Over the next few weeks I want to share with you THREE WAYS that you can invest in your personal growth (and as a result the growth of your team) this year.

Let’s cover the first one today . . .

#1 – CREATE A WRITTEN PLAN FOR YOUR GROWTH

You will grow only to the point that you plan to grow.

If you approach personal growth (in any area of your life) with little thought, goals or plans, don’t be surprised when you find yourself in virtually the same ruts a year from now that you’re in right now.

Personal growth requires planning.

In my coaching networks I walk worship leaders just like you through a process of how to create a one-year personal growth plan. This growth plan has one simple purpose – to assure that you are growing in your faith, your family life, your ministry and other key areas over the next 12 months.

It is a powerful process that provides a written game-plan for the year ahead and markers to help you stay on track.

Habakkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision and make it plain…”

God’s instruction to Habakkuk can also apply to you and I.

Write down a clear vision / plan for what you want to see God do in and through you this year, and you will likely see it come to be!

Next week we’ll talk about Step #2, but for now here are some thoughts to help you get started on your written growth plan:

  1. Set aside one-hour this week to write down your plan for growth in the following areas:* Faith – your spiritual growth plan* Family – goals you have for your family / marriage / relationships* Reading – books and topics you want to read

    * Ministry – milestones you want to celebrate and challenges you need to overcome

  2. Pray and ask God to help you accomplish your goals / plans for these areas.
  3. Post your plan in a place you can see it everyday to help you stay on track.

Your partner in ministry,

PS – Are you ready to GROW YOURSELF AND YOUR MINISTRY this year?

I want to invite you to be a part of my NEW Tele-Coaching network for Worship Leaders beginning on March 16. And when you apply by February 15 and are accepted into the network, you will receive over $733.00 in savings and bonuses.

I have personally coached 200 Worship Leaders in the last 6 years through these networks and for many of those:

  • The worship team volunteers DOUBLED
  • Worship services become MORE CREATIVE and LESS STRESSFUL
  • The relationship with the Pastor DEEPENED
  • The Worship Leader got MORE done, FASTER, so they could work on the MOST important things (and make it home for dinner each night :-)

For me – the joy of coaching is in the fruit it brings to your life and your church’s.  So YES… I’m passionate, and YES, I would like for you to seriously PRAY about joining this network.

The Best Gift You Can Give Your Staff In 2012!

Hey, This is Kerrick Thomas, the Executive Pastor at The Journey with a few thoughts on leading your staff.

I’ve served on staff at The Journey with Nelson for the last 10 years (since our church launched).  Can you believe that?  I deserve some kind of award for patience…and humility!

In those 10 years the BEST GIFT that Nelson has given me is the opportunity to receive hands-on coaching from him and also from some of the very best pastors around (those who were already doing what I was learning to do).

Wouldn’t you like to give your Executive/Associate Pastor or your Small Groups Pastor that kind of gift in 2012?  The COACHING they need to grow professionally and to help grow your church?

Listen…THIS MONTH I’m kicking-off 2 brand new tele-coaching networks…and I want to encourage you to invest in the growth of your staff by getting them plugged in!

Here they are:

  – Executive/Associate Pastor Tele-Coaching Network – kicks off on Thursday, January 26 (10 monthly calls on Thursdays from 1-3pm EST).

Think about your Executive or Associate Pastor for a moment…I believe being in this coaching network will help take them to the NEXT LEVEL as a leader and would make them infinitely more valuable to you?

Here are some of the benefits of your staff being in this coaching network with me:

- Increased weekly offerings so you can be a fully funded church in 2012

- Practical tools for leading staff so that your team is happier and more productive

- A more focused job description so your XP doesn’t feel as overwhelmed

- Improved communication with YOU (the Senior Pastor)

- Improved expertise in and management of the 8 systems of the church

- Resources and learnings that are relevant to the Executive/Associate Pastor role.

- A clear path that leads to professional growth and increased job fulfillment?

Click the link for more details:

http://www.churchleaderinsights.com/coaching/exe.php

- Small Groups Coaching Network – kicks off on Thursday, January 19 (8 monthly calls on Thursdays from 1-3pm EST).  Click the link for more details:

Now…think about your Small Groups Pastor/Director.   What if by them joining this network made it possible for you to see 100% of your church signed up for small groups in 2012 and ignite spiritual growth in your church?  We’ve seen it happen!

Here are some of the benefits of your staff being in this coaching network with me:

(1) Through the Small Groups Coaching network your staff person will have the opportunity to connect with me and other Small Group Pastors/Directors from around the country once a month from January – August 2012 for a two-hour phone call (1-3pm EST).

(2) During the network I will walk you step-by-step and month-by-month through 2 entire semesters of the Activate Semester-Based Small Group System so you can see incredible participation and growth in your church as well (last network we saw several churches go from 30% participation in small groups to over 80% in just 1 semester)!

(3) We will focus on building short-term semester based small groups.  These are the life-changing small groups that I wrote about in “Activate: An Entirely New Approach to Small Groups.”

Click the link for more details:

http://www.churchleaderinsights.com/index.php/coaching/small-groups

The truth is…I am so grateful that Nelson has invested in me over the last decade.  My hope is that you will invest in your staff in the same way by getting them connected in a coaching relationship that takes their leadership and your church to the NEXT LEVEL in 2012!

God bless your ministry in 2012!
