FRESH IDEAS FOR MOTHERS DAY
Many unchurched family members will attend worship with their moms today. Tell them how Jesus can change their life! It's a great day for a baptism, baby dedication, or children's choir song. Joyfully honor mom on Mother's Day, but focus on the only One worthy of worship – our God.

DEEP WORSHIP THAT REACHES THE UNCHURCHED
When unbelievers watch genuine worship, it becomes a powerful witness. In Acts 2 – on the day of Pentecost – God’s presence was so evident in the disciples’ worship service that it attracted the attention of unbelievers throughout the entire city! Why were those 3,000 people converted? Because they felt God’s presence and they understood the message. I believe both of these elements are essential for worship to be a witness.

Drawing the unchurched doesn't always require a meal or a carnival. Instead, ask yourself, "What issues are the people in our church's community dealing with right now?" Certain needs are actually names: 'financial counseling,' 'friendships,' 'single parents.' If we're meeting needs and getting the word out about the availability of those programs, we don't need a celebrity name to attract our community.

Know the difference between a ‘hankering’ and a ‘holy discontent’. A "hankering" is thinking that you might like to try this someday; but a "holy discontent" is something that if you don't do it you will implode! Church planting cannot be a "hankering" it has to be a "holy discontent" that you have to do. .

WHAT SPARKS CREATIVITY
I'm often asked how creative ideas are developed at NewSpring…so here are a few things that we do…- Prayer! I am not trying to over spiritualize this…but I pray for creativity. - Rest…we are NOT creative when we are MAXED out…and the more you force it…the more it is not going to happen.

Despite their diverse virtues, each [successful person] exemplifies two crucial traits: a dogged optimism despite all obstacles (some people have the ability to regard a loss as “a crossroads, not a cliff”, as Harvard Business School professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter put it) and an overwhelming impulse to define oneself. Success has less to do with what you have than with knowing who you are.
