“As we think today of the birth of the Saviour, let us aspire after a fresh birth of the Saviour in our hearts; that as he is already ‘formed in us the hope of glory,’ we may be ‘renewed in the spirit of our minds.’”

— Charles Spurgeon in his sermon, “Holy Work for Christmas.” Dec. 24, 1865

Charles Spurgeon (1834 – 1892) is one of the most influential preachers of the last few centuries. He preached his first sermon at the age of 16, just a year after his conversion, and became a pastor at age 19.

Pastor Nelson Searcy has literally read hundreds of Spurgeon’s sermons over the years but recently felt led to go back through and re-read many of his Christmas messages.

In doing so, he thought it would be interesting to mark his 10 favorites. That proved challenging, so he settled on the Top 12! Nelson then worked with his team to pull those together for you both as a preaching resource and a personal devotional.

Secure this carefully curated collection of Christmas sermons that can both encourage you as a pastor and be used in your own sermons!

Spurgeon indeed loved Christmas but he did not celebrate all the traditions of his Victorian culture. Instead in these 12 sermons, he focuses on the reason for the season — encouraging us to spend this time in rest with those we love, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

In fact, Spurgeon stressed a Christ-centered focus in preaching. He had the heart of an evangelist and thousands were saved during his almost four decades in ministry. Almost all of his sermons were published.

At the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, he regularly preached to over 10,000 on Sundays — without amplification! In his lifetime, he preached to over 10 million people.

Nelson has literally followed in the footsteps of Spurgeon, traveling to various historical sites in England, including the Metropolitan Tabernacle and his grave site in London. And he wants you to be as inspired as he was by this “Prince of Preachers.”

This e-book also includes a bonus Church Growth Champion report on Spurgeon’s life and contributions (another $29.95 value). Don’t miss the Fun Facts and Notable Quotes sections!

Enjoy 12 days of Christmas devotions with Spurgeon, and let these 12 sermons inspire and inform your own messages this season!
