How an Ohio Church Used "The Difference Maker" to Raise their Evangelistic Temperature
In the weeks leading up to a past Easter, Titanium member Bob Kistemaker took initiative at New Life Church in Lakewood, Ohio to organize not just one, but two evangelism training events.
These seminars were based on my book, The Difference Maker, a practical guide on how you can begin using your everyday life to make a difference in the lives of those who don’t know Jesus. About 25 people attended each seminar, with a total of around 55 coming to learn how to share their faith with others.
Bob coupled the Difference Maker trainings with an Easter teaching series that encouraged each church attendee to invite one person to the Easter Sunday service. When Easter came, the church documented 75 first-time guests—the most New Life Church had ever had for an Easter service. Thirty-five people gave their lives to Christ!
Bob believes the greatest impact of the Difference Maker seminars is the way the training teaches people not to be stressed out about sharing their faith, since nobody can argue with their own stories.
“Their story is how Jesus changed their life. No one can contradict that,” Bob says.
The seminars equip participants with the tools needed to be comfortable sharing their stories, as well as the principles of spreading the gospel, and that’s helped the New Life Church community “tremendously.”

“I had people come up to me on Easter,” Bob shares. “They were introducing me to new guests and they’d say, ‘This is the one I’ve shared my story with.’ It made me feel really good.”
